Master giant puff balls

The best just got bigger, our giant puff ball is super-sized for more absorption and to accommodate larger hands. Giant puffballs are saprotrophs, meaning they feed on dead organic matter. The giant puff-ball by master industries keeps hands dry and in full control with a better grip for more effective release. Went out for a mushroom hunt after hearing that puffballs were popping up. We hit the trails and there were mushrooms everywhere but I just couldn't identify them so we left them.

Cast your mixture somewhere that's conducive to puffball growth. You can buy spores for edible puffballs here, these species are synonymous with calvatia gigantea but are referred to by a different scientific name. So with one identification rule to follow this can be a great wild edible to add to your list. Add the diced puffball to the broth, cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

After simmering for 10 minutes the puffball should be cooked and the pieces of puffball should not be floating. When you find a puffball, always slice it open lengthwise and check the inside. Some similar mushrooms have the white interior (or yellowish) but also have the silhouette of a cap-type mushroom on the interior when cut open. Pigskin poison puffball (scleroderma citrinum) is a type of puffball mushroom that is found to cause gastrointestinal problems.

Giant puffballs resemble the earthball (scleroderma citrinum) the latter are distinguished by a much firmer, elastic fruiting body, and having an interior that becomes dark purplish-black with white reticulation early in development. I will start looking for puff balls as soon as the weather changes. At first they look like a small puffball, next they look like a meadow mushroom.

But there is one important puff sofa health benefit to eating puffballs in the genus calvatia. Peel the puffball and cut it into large pieces. This is due to the fact that when you drill finger holes into the ball you are extracting weight from the ball (generally 2 ounces or more depending the hole sizes and the density of the core) and it was initially designed to keep the ball balanced after it was drilled.
